Theses newbie farmers have careers in audio engineering, sustainable clothing boutiques, and work together to travel the world performing music and touring with bands.  They also keep honeybees and have GA-heritage breed 'Pineywood Cattle'. The sweetest dog in the world in Charlie, their 3-legged dog who constantl gets knocked over by the cows (for fun).

Pippy Long Stockings

Master Beekeeper who specializes in native plants in her local area.  Optimizes square foot gardening principles to create diverse and highly productive spaces for bees, ducks, chickens, and vegetable production in backyards.  The past few years she has started producing natural remedies using the rare plants she grows in conjunction with elements honeybees produce.

Rough Rider

This famlily is really amazing.  'Rough Rider' is managing one of the last multi-species livestock Abbatoir's on the East coast of the US.  These facilities are very important because they encourage farmers to increase livestock diversity on their own farms!  After running a successful vegetable farm, he now manages seven species of livestock using permaculture principles.

The Favorite Teacher

The activity The Favorite Teacher looks forward to the most every year, is working with kids on her farm camp.  She recently had a nutritional analysis of her crops and soil performed, and the results were so excellent, the agent wanted to run them again because he couldn't believe it.  So he did, and still got the same, amazing results back.  A+.

Wonder Woman

Where do we start with this one?  A single mother at 16, Wonder Woman raised her beautiful sun into a strong man and father.  While doing that, she attended and finished college, obtained two Masters degrees and finished her p.h.D. in human rights.  She has traveled the world, started a non-profit, and now runs the most loving farm I have ever stepped foot on.

Tool Time

The first farm these dudes had actually ever stepped foot on was their own! Two best friends since childhood, they had been working together for decades, got married around the same time and both had pregnant wives at the same time.  With children on the way they started looking at how to raise them right and discovered the horrible state our country's food quality is in.  So these dads started farming...

Bonnie & Clyde

When it comes to attention to detail and doing things right, these farmers have those standards intertwined in their DNA.  They bring gardening and farming experience from all over the country and have found the most challenging part of what they do, to be the lack of respect many people have by damaging and destroying crops on their farm.

The Barefoot Farmer
(Real Name)

This farmer is un-real!!! He is a professor of life, he has been publishing articles about Real Farming for decades, and he is one of the most generous, kind, and intelligent souls I have ever met!  Some of the things he taught me I am still puzzling over and unraveling.  He hosts concerts, plays AMAZING guitar, cooks amazing food and yes, farms without shoes.  He just wrote a new book on Amazon - look up The Barefoot Farmer

John Jacob Jingleheimer
Smith

John Jacob is a former apprentice of The Barefoot Farmer.  He worked in media for years but after experiencing real farm life - poverty, hard work, constant disaster but chock-full of meaningful connections and interactions- he threw his modern ambitions aside, got married to a farm girl, and now they are beginning to build a a new and better life.

Noah's Ark

Ducks, pigs, cows, sheep, geese, chickens, turkey, quail...am I missing anything?  This ranch is world-renown for its intelligent application of rotational grazing systems, and has had academics publish studies proving their systems improve soil health and animal welfare.  They implement zero-waste production systems, using every single part of the animal to make a plethora of high-quality products.

East TN Permaculture
Institute

Joe actually used to sell solar panels, but after that business closed, converted the old warehouse into a permaculture institute.  Joe went with Geoff Lawton to the country of Jordan to join in 'Greening the Desert'.  Check out the truly inspirational video on youtube.  (That video actually caused RAR's Rob and Jesse to begin our journeys into real agriculture)

Tractor Santa

Community Garden director, 'Tractor Santa' is highly impressed with the amount of women he sees working in the food garden.  He jumped off his tractor when he saw a plant or tree that had gone to seed and filled my pockets with non-GMO, native fruit tree and vegetable plant seeds.  Real Farming is a lot of hard work but he believes it is good for the soul.
